About me

Thanks for visiting my blog. I’m Nigel, a pharmacist in my early 50s (how did that happen?) living in Berwick upon Tweed, Northumberland with my partner, Iain, and two rescue labradors, Kip and Belle.

I studied pharmacy at the University of Bath and decided quickly that it wasn’t for me.  That’s why I’m still doing it 31 years after I graduated.

From 2003 to 2011 I owned and ran my own pharmacy business in the village of Farnsfield, Nottinghamshire, ably assisted by Iain.  This was probably the most fulfilled I’ve ever felt working in pharmacy, but it got too busy for us and we sold up.

We moved to Berwick, where I now work part-time as a locum pharmacist and Iain sells antiques.

I’ve wanted to study hypnotherapy ever since I realised it was an actual possibility but never quite got around to it.  This year, it’s going to be different.  In this blog, I intend to write about the process of becoming a hypnotherapist, from selecting a course, through my training, and beyond.  There’ll also be plenty of detours for my musings on life, labradors and the North Northumberland coast.

I hope you enjoy it.
